On October 19, 2013, the Environmental Resources and Energy Law Committee of the Shanxi Bar Association  (the “Committee”) held a conference on the “New Businesses and Challenges for Environmental Resources and Energy Lawyers” in Shanxi Province, including the participation of the Juridical Department of Shanxi Province, and leaders and member lawyers of the Committee.

Freda Fu, an AllBright partner in Taiyuan, delivered a speech on environmental law issues at the conference. Her lecture, “The Evolving Coal Policy in Shanxi and Legal Services in Shanxi National Resources Industry Economic Reform Trial Zone”, was well received by participating officials and Committee members. Her lecture identified issues confronting Shanxi’s coal policies and new legal business opportunities in the post-consolidation era.
