CIETAC 2020 Work Report and 2021 Work Plan Issued

On February 6, 2021, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) issued its 2020 Work Report and 2021 Work Plan.
According to CIETAC, the year 2020 saw a steady growth of the number and the quality of cases. Multiple measures were taken to reduce the adverse impact of the epidemic, arbitration business achieved new success. The quality and efficiency of case management continued to be reinforced. The internal system and institutional construction were further perfected to improve competitiveness effectively. Substantial promotional work was undertaken to show that arbitration could serve the increasing need of both domestic and international parties. International arbitration exchanges were actively carried out, cementing the position of CIETAC in the international arbitration community.
For 2021, CIETAC plans to promote further reform and development; modernize the operation and management of the institution; improve the efficiency of case management and enhance the credibility of arbitration; innovate the services and contribute to the “opening-up”; continue to conduct academic research on arbitration theory and contribute to the improvement of the arbitration legal system; and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.
