China International Commercial Arbitration Annual Report (2019-2020) Released by CIETAC

On September 18, 2020, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) held a press conference in Beijing and officially released the Chinese and English version of China International Commercial Arbitration Annual Report (2019-2020) (“Report”).
The Report is the sixth annual report completed and published by CIETAC since the decision of carrying out a series of research work in 2014.
The highlights of the Report include the latest development of Incoterms?2020 and its application in China, as well as special observations on key issues of legal and arbitration practices in equity transfer and construction project disputes. During the drafting of the Report the global COVID-19 outbreak started. As a result, the research team paid great attention to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on international commercial activities. For example, in the chapter “Current issues in construction law and arbitration practice”, the team conducted research into the possible disputes in the field of construction projects during the COVID-19 epidemic, and provided guidance, measures and suggestions for responding to such disputes.
