Interim Measures between Mainland China and Macau SAR issued

On February 24, 2022, the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China issued the Arrangement Concerning Mutual Assistance in Interim Measures in Aid of Arbitral Proceedings by the Courts of the Mainland and of the Macau Special Administrative Region (the “Arrangement”), which has come into effect on March 25, 2022.
The Arrangement reflects the consensus reached between the Mainland and Macau SAR on mutual assistance in arbitration preservation. It is also aimed to fully reflect judicial support for arbitration and promote diversified dispute resolution.
The Arrangement specifies the types of interim measures that could be approved, the applicable arbitration procedures, courts of competent jurisdictions and the stages of application for interim measures.
