The First Cross-Border E-commerce Overseas Warehouse Standard in China Implemented

On April 20, 2022, the Operation and Management Service Specifications for Overseas Warehouse of Cross-border E-commerce (the “Standard”), as jointly drafted by China Association for Trade in Services, Zhejiang Provincial E-Commerce Promotion Center, Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone and related enterprises in overseas warehouses, was implemented. This is the first cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouse standard in China.
The Standard stipulates the operation and service management scope, requirements and specifications for cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouse enterprises, defines the key concepts of overseas warehouses, key operation procedures and specifications of overseas warehouses, and provides a unified standard for the overseas warehouse enterprises. According to Chen Qiaoyan, director of the Zhejiang Province E-Commerce Promotion Center, “Overseas warehouse is an important part of cross-border e-commerce enterprises in optimization and core competitiveness cultivation of supply chain, industrial chain, and value chain. Standardization is of great significance to promote the extension of service functions and network platform development of our overseas warehouses.”
