AllBright Holds a Seminar on Notaries Public in Emerging Financing
2015-01-197939On the afternoon of January 15, the Notaries Public in Emerging Finance seminar was held at the AllBright Shanghai office. The seminar was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Notary Association and KoGuan Law School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and organized by AllBright. It attracted more than 20 participants including Huang Qun, president of the Shanghai Notary Association, Xu Qing, vice secretary general of the Shanghai Notary Association, Wang Bin, associate professor of KoGuan Law School Shanghai Jiao Tong University, AllBright partner Jennifer Wang and other guests from the notary, finance leasing, private equity sectors. The participants discussed the necessity of, and status quo and challenges for notaries in emerging finance.
The seminar was presided over by Wang Bin, associate professor of the KoGuan Law School Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Huang Qun and Xu Qing delivered the opening speech.
Tian Jin and Zhang Ming from the Shanghai Oriental Notary Public Office delivered a speech entitled The Enforcement of Notary Public Clauses in Emerging Finance. Mr. Shao Feng, manager of the compliance and litigation department of Haitong UniTrust International Leasing Corp., and Shi Yuehan, investment director of Haitong Jiehe Private Equity Investment Fund Management Co., shared with the audience their views on finance leasing and private equity investment legal risks control and notary clause’s status quo and prospects, respectively. Two judges shared their views on the enforcement of notary clauses in emerging finance at courts in Shanghai.
A lively discussion followed after the insightful speeches and participants shared their views on how to promote the development of notary services in emerging finance. AllBright partner Jennifer Wang wrapped up the seminar with a concluding speech.
